Selling gear is very easy. Once the skydiving gear marketplace is live, you can click on “Sell Gear” and follow the steps. Keep in mind that you will have to make an account with Stripe to receive payments. The whole process takes no more then 5 minutes.
We consciously decided against an in-house rigger inspection to keep it simple and cost-efficient. Once you receive the gear you bought, you can bring it to your rigger, who can inspect its condition. If you do not know a rigger, ask at your dropzone and you will surely find one. Many riggers do the inspection for free as well.
You can buy and sell every piece of gear connected to skydiving on Avento. We are constantly developing and improving our filter algorithm so you can buy and sell exactly what you need.
As a platform, we face the classic chicken-and-egg-problem. For Avento to have enough users to offer great value for you, it requires a lot of work from us. We will spend much effort on partnerships with big sellers, marketing, informing all people selling gear and much more.
To quickly inform a dense network of skydivers, we will initially focus on Central Europe before expanding rapidly. However, the platform will be available worldwide from the beginning. There might just not be much traffic on it where you are in the beginning.
You still use it, though. Firstly, you either develop the traffic in your area on Avento yourself. If the people selling naturally come on the platform, we are of course happy to see that. Furthermore, you could ask a seller that you see elsewhere online to list it on Avento so you can buy it with the additional security.
As a seller, you can post on Avento and then just share the link to your listing in your usual channels. That way you can streamline the process and have fewer things to care about.
As a skidiving marketplace, we do not inspect the gear and can therefore not ensure its quality. What we do is block the payment so you have time to bring it for inspection once you receive it. We are here to eliminate as much of the friction in the transaction as possible.
The buyer can pay with multiple payment options such as debit card. This amount is then blocked on an account until the buyer has received and inspected the gear. Once the gear has inspected, the buyer is paid out.
Once the buyer received the gear, they have 2 weeks to bring it for inspection. If the buyer has not contested the transaction within the 2 weeks or has confirmed that the gear is in order, the funds are released to the seller.
Yes. If the item is not as described, the case is forwarded to us, and we make sure that you are refunded. Of course, you must send back the equipment in this case. In most cases, you will have to cover the shipment of the return.
Include as many details as possible. The more details are included, the more likely it is that a buyer finds the listing.
We offer advanced filtering and escrow payments. With this, we can offer efficient search and safe transactions while still being cost-efficient.
As the buyer has to cover shipping when sending gear back and because returns are only possible in case of misrepresentation by the seller (description of listing and actual gear does not match), which we have to confirm, this is highly unlikely.
If you want the added security that this cannot happen, we recommend that you have your rigger put his seal around the three ring system before sending the gear. Jumping gear with a sealed 3-ring system is dangerous and thus you can see that it has not been jumped when it comes back with the seal intact.
